There are at least 13 million adults and approximately 700,000 children living with a serious illness in the U.S. While much progress has been made to improve access to palliative care and other key health care supports for this population, significant gaps remain. The 2024 Serious Illness Scorecard evaluates each state’s readiness and capacity to meet the needs of patients and families facing serious illness. Join Stacie Sinclair, Associate Director for Policy and Care Transformation from the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), for a deep dive into how Missouri performed on the Scorecard, and opportunities to increase palliative care access moving forward.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to: · Describe national trends in palliative care access · Describe the methodology used to determine Missouri’s score · Leverage the Scorecard and individual state report to identify, prioritize, and advance initiatives to increase palliative care access in Missouri
